Curious about what we do and how we do it?
Our Studio
These are some of our most common questions, don't see an answer to yours? Ask us about it here.
What will my first lesson look like?
When you arrive for your first lesson, Shane will sit down and spend a couple of minutes getting to know you and your goals for learning the guitar. Then, based on your level of experience or knowledge, he’ll walk you through the basics of your guitar and how to take care of it. For the last half of the lesson, depending on your level of experience, he’ll work with you on learning some chords, or a song. Basically, you’ll walk out of your first lesson with some new knowledge and a plan for developing your skills.
How long are lessons?
Most people opt for half hour lessons once a week, but we cater to students of all types. We’ve got people who come every two weeks for an hour, and one student who just drops by whenever he feels like he needs to ‘sharpen his skills’. We can find a time and length that works for you.
How many lessons do I need to sign up for?
Thinking about signing up for lessons, but don't know if it's quite for you? No dramas, we don't have any minimum lesson commitments. Come once or come once a week (we hope you'll be the second one) you're welcome at Bluestone Music Studios.
What kind of lessons do you offer?
We believe in fostering a lifelong love of music in our students. That's why we tailor our lessons to suit the student's needs and learning goals.

That doesn't mean we won't push you to be the best guitarist you can be. Just that we take a more personalised approach to learning. Shane's got years of experience teaching and has formal music qualifications to back it up. Whether you're looking to pursue music in a professional capacity, or just learn something new; we'll work with you on your personal learning journey.

Most of our students attend one on one lessons, but we also cater to groups if you’ve got a couple of friends who want to learn together.
Will I get in trouble if I don't practice?
We’re here to help you be the best guitar player you can possibly be. What that looks like is up to you. We encourage you to practice (and practice often) because that’s the best way to learn. But we also understand that life is hectic and busy.
Do you offer gift certificates?
We do offer gift certificates. In fact we think giving someone the gift of music is a wonderful idea. If this is something you’re interested in, please reach out.
Do I need to get my own guitar?
You do. We’ve got guitars here you can borrow for your lesson, but it’s best if you have your own instrument to take home and practice on.
